The Science of Fabric and Footwear Physics
Cloth is an anisotropic mechanical system that behaves differently on the bias than along the grain line. Cleverpoly inputs real fabric weights (g/mยฒ), stretch resistance, and internal friction to simulate natural motion, collar folding, and tread deformation.
Simulation Capabilities
- CLO3D, Marvelous Designer & DXF Ingestion: Assembling 2D sewing patterns directly into calibrated 3D cloth geometry.
- Footwear Sole Mechanics & Kevlar Deconstruction: Multi-density EVA foam compression, puncture layer reveals, and flexible knit upper tension.
- Dynamic Gravitational Solvers & Wind Tunnels: Simulating airflow drag, walking cycles, and running impact biomechanics without avatar clipping.
- Thread-Level Micro-Displacement: Seam top-stitching, weave displacement normal maps, and procedural surface micro-fibers.
